SOME ADVICE TO HELP YOU CHOOSE YOUR VIDEOGRAPHER

Your wedding day will be one of the most wonderful days in your life and a professionally produced video of the day will provide you with a marvellous reminder that gives you the chance to re-live those precious moments and probably see some things you had missed or forgotten.

VIDEO or PHOTOS

Ideally, you will have both. However, a photograph can only capture a moment in time, whereas a video allows you to see time and again, your day, as it happened

Video and photography are closely related in many ways, but call for very different skills. At VIDEO BY MIKE, we normally only offer video coverage of your day, but you will see that we can thoroughly recommend some very competent professional photographers. We feel it unwise to offer both services because of the different skills required. However, we are in the process of negotiating with a photographer to join our team.

CHOOSING A VIDEOGRAPHER

When you search the web for videographers in your area, you will find a staggering array of names, all claiming to be professional. Where do you start to look?

In this modern digital age, most cameras are fitted with that magic "full automatic" button, which manufacturers claim will give professional results. If only it were that easy. Many couples have fallen into the trap of relying on a family friend to shoot their precious video, only to discover, too late, they have wobbly, badly exposed images that are difficult to watch.

Sadly, many who claim the title "professional videographer" are no better.

There are many skills required to produce a good wedding video, as it is undoubtedly, one of the most difficult tasks in video production to undertake. Unlike a studio shoot, there is often little, if any, control on filming conditions and yet everything must be correct first time as there can be no re-takes.
